Ms. Dixon currently resides in Northern Virginia. She holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Maryland in Advertising and Design and an Associates Degree in Fine Art.

Ms. Dixon worked as both a designer and illustrator for 11 years before moving with her husband and children to live overseas. Due to her husband's employment with the Foreign Service, she lived in Austria and England for a combined 10 years. Living abroad, she tended to her growing family while the surrounding culture of European life inspired her creatively. She took every opportunity to visit museums and galleries and it was during these visits that she became increasingly motivated to build on the foundations of her earlier art education. While painting mostly in watercolor, Ms. Dixon sold work to collectors in Europe and the UK mostly through word of mouth. Her desire to seriously persue a career in fineart painting grew as she examined the works of master artists and she decided that she would branch out to other mediums as well as watercolor.

After returning to the US, Ms. Dixon sought to hone her skills in oil painting by taking classes offered by Danni Dawson and Kurt Schwarz at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2016 she completed a workshop with renown classical painter, Robert Liberace.

Ms. Dixon enjoyed teaching art to elementary and middle school students for five years before resigning in 2016. She has been actively painting while exhibiting her work in various local venues and juried exhibitions.
